The Fun Begins

I was pulling into my driveway Monday night and there was a giant city notice posted on the garage door. Lovely. I parked, walked out and read the notice. They're holding a public hearing to turn our apartment building into condos on Thursday, Jan. 17th at like 10:30AM.

We'd gotten a letter over a year ago from our management company saying they were going to convert the units into condos and offered a 5% discount if we wanted to buy our unit. Are you kidding me? We have 4 separate leaks along the sliding glass door every time it rains. What a terrible investment.

Like I said, that was over a year ago and we hadn't heard anything since. We figured our crappy management company figured it wouldn't be worth their time/money, but I guess not. So we're currently looking for a new place. Ugh.

We actually went to see a 2 bed, 1 1/2 bath townhouse last night, but it wasn't quite as up to date as we'd prefer. And it had those hideous mirrored sliding closet doors in the bedrooms. Those are pretty much a deal breaker for us.

We can't even imagine moving, but we figure we better start looking and find exactly what we want instead of waiting till we get a 30 days to vacate letter and be forced into something not as awesome as we want. Who's gonna help us move?

Oh crap that sucks! Not that I have any idea what the market is like or what neighborhoods are good, but there was some interesting stuff on Craigslist.
